This place is hit and miss. Some times the food is good and sometimes it's just not, but it's not special. We've been here several times over the last three years. I'm writing a review now because it seems to be going downhill. Last week my husband's food was so greasy he couldn't eat it. The cheesecake tasted like it had been stored uncovered in the fridge for a week....stale and wierd. There are so many other places in Mt Airy to eat that are better.
Nice drink selection that seems to have semi-regular rotation.
I have been here several times so my review is not based on one visit. This place can be hit or miss. Usually a hit. The bar and beer selection are great, especially the beer selection. Love that they get a very wide selection of great beer, very respectable. The service can be problematic and slow sometimes. Recently went to lunch with my mom and took close to ten minutes at our table before we were greeted and my mom got breakfast food for lunch, which turned out pretty bad. The English muffin was hardly toasted and when we asked for it to be toasted again our server only brought it back after about 20 minutes after our meal was pretty much done, she had probably forgotten. The bacon was old and cold and the potatoes were bland and hardly if at all seasoned. Kind of disappointing not to get a good simple breakfast from a place that is supposed to serve it all day. I had a sandwich (turkey Rachel) and cream of crab soup and both were great, especially the soup! I recommend the cream of crab soup if you go, ask for extra old Bay. It was very strange how my meal was fine but the breakfast was not. Three stars seemed appropriate.
Breakfast all day. Country fried steak is always a strong winner.
Wonderful atmosphere, good food, and good service.
We've eaten there a couple of times and everything was great! But this last time, the only thing that was great was our server! The food took forever, (and they weren't busy) and it was delivered cold. The manager told us she didn't understand what was wrong with the cook that night. And to make matters worse, the music that was playing through out the restaurant was loud heavy metal. Ugg! Don't think we'll be going back anytime soon!
